Site Inspection

The site inspection phase is probably the most enjoyable yet challenging aspect of the monitoring process. No matter what the weather conditions are, the construction inspection is in the contractor�s world. The inspector needs to know about all facets of the construction process including billing procedures, off-site stored material, change orders, retainage, and scheduling. Without proper training and field experience, the risk of this monitoring phase greatly increases. If this is a field report, it is a summary of what is visually observed on a given day. An inspection report is very detailed about the visual observation over several days. It requires many hours of prep time in reading the project documents, and intimate involvement in the construction.
